High Efficiency + Rebates = Bigger Savings

Tennessee Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate Program

Lee Company customers can now receive rebates on select products.

The State of Tennessee’s Department of Economic and Community Development, in concert with the U.S. Department of Energy, is making rebates available to Tennessee residents who replace an existing air conditioner, central air conditioner, air source heat pump, or gas furnace with a new ENERGY STAR (copyright) qualified model.  The rebates are being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  The total program funding is $5,660,000.

Rebates will be offered for qualifying appliances purchased between
April 22, 2010 and February 17, 2012, so long as funds remain available.

All Tennessee residents who are homeowners or renters qualify for the rebates, which include the following:

  • ENERGY STAR qualified central air conditioners ($250 rebate)
  • ENERGY STAR qualified air source heat pumps ($250 rebate)
  • ENERGY STAR qualified gas furnaces ($150 rebate).

You can identify qualifying models by going to the ENERGY STAR website at http://www.energystar.gov/. Lee Company can work with you to determine what models are ENERGY STAR qualified.

Click here and enter your model number to see if your unit qualifies.

NOTE: You only need to complete the applicable model number field to see if your unit qualifies and to get the required reference number.  You need the reference number for your application.

There is a limit of one rebate per household. Rebates will be issued as a Tennessee Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate Program Prepaid MasterCard® Card, which may only be mailed to a Tennessee address or post office box.

Following are steps for the Program:

  • Purchase an ENERGY STAR® qualified central air conditioner from Lee Company from April 22, 2010 to February 17, 2010.
  • Enter your primary home phone number to begin the online rebate application process and complete the questions on the subsequent pages.

As you prepare to file your 2009 taxes and plan your 2010 spending, there's a government plan that will help you as a homeowner have a more efficient home – and save money at the same time!

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) is designed to help stimulate the economy and offset some of the investment that you will make in more efficient HVAC equipment, energy efficient windows or water heating equipment to your primary residence.

Here's how it works… The tax credit is retroactive back to January 1, 2009 and will expire on December 31, 2010. For qualified home improvements, the tax credit is 30% of the installed cost or up to $1,500. This is higher than any other government credit or rebate program to date. This credit does have a cap of $1,500 for the two years.

Lee Company currently offers a number of products that qualify for the tax credit:

• Geothermal Heat Pump
(30% tax credit with no cap)

• All Residential Heating and Cooling manufacturers offer at least one line that meets the efficiency standards (30% not to exceed $1,500.00)

• Tankless Water Heaters
(30% not to exceed $1,500.00)

• Andersen and other Replacement Windows
(30% not to exceed $1,500.00)

• Roofing Insulation options that qualify for a tax credit. Please check with Lee Company on the option that would both qualify for the tax credit and best meet your needs (30% not to exceed $1,500.00)

Lee Company is dedicated to providing you the best equipment and the best service, backed by the best company. Have one of our Home Services Consultants come out for a free energy evaluation of your home’s total efficiency and we will give you all the details on every tax credit available.
