Providing an expedited schedule to get 36 record presses up in “record” time was a challenge Lee Company was ready to take on – especially in Music City! The preconstruction and operations teams developed a detailed project schedule, in 3 phases, and phase 1 would take 4 months to complete. Upon completion, phase 1 brought 12 presses online, meeting the high demand for vinyl records. Lee Company’s operations team met the project schedule, and then some! Each record press required steam, compressed air, warm water, and hydraulic fluid. When there was a delay in the shipment of two boilers, Lee Company installed piping up a temporary boiler to bring phase 2 online, and to keep the project schedule – using as much innovation as possible!
