Summit Building’s renovation project brought back fond memories for the Lee Company team – and it continued in great tradition! Congratulations to the Lee Company pros who worked on this building which supports a medical facility. Summit Building has been honored with Excellence in Construction awards from the Greater Tennessee and North Alabama chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
Summit Building received the 2018 Eagle Award from the Greater Tennessee Associated Builders and Contractors chapter and the 2018 Excellence Award from the North Alabama Associated Builders and Contractors Chapter.
A blast from the past
Back in 1983, Lee Company installed the original HVAC system in the Summit Building in Brentwood, Tennessee. In 2017, Lee Company got the call to renovate the system, now supporting a medical facility. There was no time to reminisce about the good old days – the tenant needed the work done ASAP, the building was fully occupied, and air quality and temperature requirements were strict. Using creative solutions and methods, Lee Company worked around the clock to get the job done on time without disrupting operations. With the new system installed, Lee Company is literally building on success!
Seal the deal
Along with the tight 10-month timeframe, the tenant gave Lee Company a strict budget. To keep the renovation work within budget, Lee Company applied value analysis/engineering to utilize the Summit Building’s existing duct and piping mains.
Lee Company was also able to use the existing mechanical shaft, rather than adding an additional shaft in the space. This work benefited from Lee Company’s exclusive ability to use AeroSeal®. As the only contractor using AeroSeal® in the Nashville area, Lee Company was able to seal the shaft in the penthouse (and the ductwork) without having to open the shaft.
The final results? Better than before! With Lee Company innovation and expertise, Summit Building was able to continue with very little disruption to its business. And all the work was done on time and on budget.
